Introduction

We aim to cater for the needs of all visitors in our 3 bedroom bed and breakfast. The following statement is a summary of our provision. If you have any specific questions please feel free to call us and we will endeavour to help.

Pre-Arrival

The main train station at Hexham is 20 minutes away by car. There is a small station at Haydon Bridge which is only 5 minutes away by car
There is a taxi service that has accessible taxis if required, we can make a booking for you.
Menus can be provided in large print.
We have a website.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

On Arrival to the property there are double entrance gates at the bottom of the track, these are open 24 hours when the B&B is operating.
No marked parking bays but there is a designated parking space.
The surface is flat and gravel, however there is a footpath made of concrete which links with the patio
We can assist guests with luggage.
The village is a five minutes drive by car from the Bed and Breakfast.

Main Entrance & Reception

The front door has a thresh (let us know if you need this and we will provide on arrival).
The front door is always locked.
The door is 80cm wide.
The front door opens out of the lounge / dining area which is 7.70 m long X 4.20 m wide.
There is seating provided.
There is a tiled floor throughout the ground floor.

Public Areas - General (Internal)

Our corridor to the bedroom is 91cm wide.
Corridors are well lit.
The flooring on the corridor is short piled carpet.
The covering on stairs is short pile carpet.
Dog water bowl and food bowl (and food if requested in advance) are available on request.
The breakfast room is on the ground floor.
There are 2 stairs to a landing followed by a further 3 stairs to the first floor bedroom.
The stairs are 18cm high, 26cm deep, 80cm wide.

Restaurant / Dining Room, Bar & Lounges, Take Away & Cafe

Breakfast is served in the lounge / dining room on the ground floor. There are 5 steps.
Furniture is flexible and can be moved on request.
Tables have underspace of 61cm high by 68 wide and height of 73cm (legs on each corner). There are chairs with arms and without which can be moved to accommodate.
Large print menus can be provided by prior arrangement.
We do not play background music in any area of the B&B.

Bedrooms

There are 3 bedrooms, only one is M2 friendly.
There are 2 stairs to a landing followed by a further 3 stairs to the first floor bedrooms.
The stairs are 18cm high, 26cm deep, 85cm wide.
Door widths (main and bathroom) are 80cm wide.
Can either be a double bedded room or a twin bedded room.
At least 85cm routes within the bedroom e.g. to the side of beds, between beds and dressing table, therefore allowing for left or right transfer to beds in any combination.
Furniture is moveable on request.
Beds are 54cm high but can be raised with blocks on request.
Television with remote control and teletext.
Divan beds are provided.
Two armchairs and one upright chair (no arms) can be provided in the room.
There is an ensuite shower room (see below for details).
Fitted short pile carpet on the floor.

Bathroom, Shower-room & WC [Ensuite or Shared]

Bedroom ensuite.
Door width 78cm, sliding.
Free floor space clear of door is 140cm x 170cm.
The wetroom has level access to shower. There is one grab rail to the right of the controls.
The shower has an attachment and both horizontal rail on the opposite side to entry and also vertical rail to the side of the shower attachment.
A shower seat is available.
The basin is flat fronted. It is 82cm high.
The toilet has left side transfer with available free space of 93cm. The toilet is 40cm high.
There is a horizontal rail beside the toilet (opposite side to transfer) and 1 vertical rail beside the toilet cistern tank.

Grounds and Gardens

We have a small enclosed lawned area with unrestricted views down the valley
Hadrian's Wall is 1 mile away.

Additional Information

Assistance dogs are welcomed.
Mobile phone reception is generally good.
We are able to use the front and back doors in the need of evacuation, the fire bell will sound continuously.
We are happy to take delivery of hired equipment (please let us know if ordered-telephone number below for hirers).
We are a no smoking building.
We are licensed and can put medication/food in our main fridge on request (not available 24hours).
